The Gypsy Violin

The Gypsy Violin
( by Munda )

The compelling violin lures
with an irresistable yearn
Dance, dance, please dance for me
I can no longer adjourn!

Ethereal notes float from its strings
Caressing like a lover's hand
Sensual music, Angel's touch
Leading the way to wonderland

Embracing with utter delight
Craving, beckoning me,
Tempting my lonely heart
Dance, dance on my melody!

Faster, faster the music escapes
Without compassion to body or soul
Seducer of lonely hearts
Until dancing is my only goal

Faces gyrate while I dance in passion
Flashes of fire in the corner of my eyes
The violin plays like never before
Until I become one and loneliness dies

With a final cry and a final touch
The violin stops, the music ends
Leaving behind an emptiness
We'll meet again, my violin friend

Calls of the Ragdoll...

O Glorious God, when will it end..
no longer can I keep my fingers straight and stiff
the beetle scuttles across the bloody wood
the tips of my fingers itch to bend
to feel and run across its smooth shiny length
to bring to life, and discourse the living of myth
O Lord, comfort my cries..please unite me, with my beloved to soothe

O Saviour, when will it start
no longer am I content with Your silence
the purple bird whistles her sonorous song
my deaf ears yearn to hear the single note
to relish in wonder the voice of a lark
to dance with rapture, Methuselah weeping in cadence
O Lord, hear my pleas, please sweep me, to the realm I belong

Christ! I feel my rigid bones snap, crack and twist!
to caress, and create a sweetness I cannot explain
and sing for You, every tune with pitched clarity
and hum for You, my whispery voice serenades
the tinkling harp quietly crescendos in the fogging mist
Suddenly, the lioness freezes and the zebra runs unslain
she listens-and escapes in pure ecstasy
